A Beauteous Evening, Calm and Free

Well, it wasn’t exactly evening — more like late afternoon. But it was 50 degrees (in the sun), and although the sun went down at its usual 5 PM time, there was still that glorious gold light we had almost forgotten existed:

evehousesunThe ash trees (the ones with the red limbs) really are almost that gold, even without the late sunlight.

evefenceshadowsThese shadows have not been photoshopped; they actually rang blue against the gold of the new wood on the back fence.

And, ta-da! I got to go a-painting with my bag-lady cart. I marched right down to Hawthorne and did a rather mediocre, but ever-so-heartening painting there.  The painting isn’t worth showing, but it does inhabit the same block as this store, which is really a destination shopping experience:


Fortunately I was painting and didn’t dare let my cart outside — someone would have bought it. –June
